What is a chemical facial peel?
A chemical facial peel is a skincare procedure that uses acids selected according to the skin condition and treatment goal. It may help support a smoother skin feel, a more even tone and a fresher appearance, but suitability and treatment depth are always individual.
Before a procedure at EHO Clinic, we assess skin type, sensitivity, active inflammation, home care and previous procedures. This enables the specialist to explain which approach to consider and whether one treatment or a course is sensible.
When is it worth consulting a specialist?
A consultation is particularly important if uneven complexion, superficial pigmentation changes, congestion, post-acne marks or skin texture are a concern. It is equally important to discuss expectations: skin response and recovery time can vary.
Preparation before treatment
- Avoid intensive sun exposure and tanning beds for at least two weeks before your appointment.
- Tell the specialist about retinoids, acids, exfoliants and medicines you use.
- Do not try new strong home-care products immediately before the procedure.
- Come with clean skin and let us know if there is irritation or a rash.
If the skin is sensitive or recovering from a recent procedure, the specialist may recommend changing the preparation period. This is part of safe planning that takes your skin into account.
Skincare after a peel
After a peel, the skin may temporarily be more sensitive, drier or slightly red. Use gentle cleansing, moisturising care and broad-spectrum sun protection. Resume exfoliating products, retinoids and strong active ingredients only on the specialist's recommendation.
If you experience strong discomfort, extensive swelling or another unexpected reaction, contact the clinic. Aftercare guidance is always part of procedure planning.
